Remember Your Song

Do I remember my song?
I hear its echoes on the air.
I feel the ache of it deep in my bones.
I taste the flavour of it on my tongue.

Do I remember my song?
The grass, the flowers, use their fragrance to remind me.
The trees call to me, as the wind soughs through their branches, “remember”.
The earth grounds and cradles me as it croons “remember”.

Do I remember my song?
The sky draws my eyes to the heavens as the clouds float with such grace and fluidity, and I watch as they form the images of remembering.
The birds trill, call and sing to me “remember”.
The wild souls gather to me, and call “remember”.

Do I remember my song?
I am comforted by it when nature has me in her embrace.
Like a deep vein of crystallized mineral within a rock it is still there.
I can feel the vibration of it thrumming through my veins.

Do I remember my song?
I need to remember as I once did as a child, the song that was born with me as I entered into this world.
I need to remember for without it I am untethered.
I need to remember for without it I am lost.

I need to remember my song.
